Wapiti Regional Library - Regional Office

Wapiti Regional Library serves an area of approximately 61,242 square kilometers in North Central Saskatchewan's beautiful Lake Country. Our communities include over 100 municipalities, ranging from rural municipalities, villages, and towns to the cities of Humboldt and Melfort, and First Nations communities, all with unique needs and strengths.

Wapiti Regional Library is Saskatchewan's original and largest regional library system serving 87,000+ residents through 43 branch locations and boards. Wapiti acquired its current name in the mid-70s when the Saskatchewan Government, using Wapiti as a model, established a province-wide system of public libraries.

As a member of the Saskatchewan multi-type library system, Wapiti lends resources to other multi-type partners and receives free loans in return. As a result, patrons have access to over three million items from public, university and special libraries across Saskatchewan.
