About this organization
COVID-19 UPDATE: The Prince Albert Chapter is temporarily closed.
This Saskatchewan Brain Injury Support Group is an opportunity to meet with other brain injury survivors who may be facing similar challenges. The idea is to provide support, sympathetic ears, socialize, have fun and celebrate triumphs. The group is facilitated by a SBIA Social Worker.
The Prince Albert Chapter of SBIA holds a monthly Chapter support group meeting available free of charge to survivors and their families. The group allows participants to learn more about brain injury and available services by meeting with others who are facing or have faced similar challenges.
The essential elements of the support groups are:
- Gather information
- Share common needs and strengths
- Provide a place to meet new friends and find new connections in the community
- Provide an opportunity to socialize
- Provide an environment where positive and negative views can be expressed without judgment
- Have fun!!
