Overview The mission of the Gabriel Dumont Institute is to promote the renewal and development of Métis culture through research; materials development, collection, and distribution; and the design, development, and delivery of Métis-specific educational programs and services. THE GDI FAMILY Gabriel Dumont College GDC delivers the first two years of a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree through the University of Saskatchewan. GDC courses are offered in Saskatoon and Prince Albert, and focus on Native studies, Métis studies, and Indigenous languages. Learn more about GDC. GOVERNANCE GDI operates with a 12-member board of governors plus a chairperson who is the Métis Nation Saskatchewan Minister of Education. Board members are selected from each of the 12 MNS regions.
