About this service
The Young Parent Program is designed to offer parents between the ages of 13 and 24 years the opportunity to learn the skills necessary for independent living and parenting. Out of the position of concern the Department of Social Services, in co-operation with the Family Serving Agencies in Saskatchewan, developed this program. The main objectives are to promote normal development in babies, to increase the knowledge and understanding of parenting skills of young mothers and fathers, and to assist young parents in stabilizing and improving their own situations, with a view to eventual self-sufficiency. We work towards providing both parent and child with a healthy, successful future.
