About this service
The SPOT Clinic offers students from Laval University's School of Nutrition the opportunity to experience a five-week internship in a community setting. The trainees are accompanied by a worker from the Clinique SPOT and a nutrition worker from the P'tit march solidaire in Limoilou. Trainees must identify the needs of the community environments that host them. They meet the people who use the services as well as the workers.
Nutrition education tools and activities are then developed and presented by the trainees in the community organizations that receive them. These tools take different forms:
- Information-advice workshops
- Healthy eating quizzes
- Simple, economical and nutritious recipes
- Fact sheets on different aspects of nutrition
- Credible sources of nutrition information
- Evaluations with participants of the educational activity on nutrition
Who can use it?
People in situations of disaffiliation, marginalization and homelessness.
