Oasis self-help groups are a meeting place for new mothers diagnosed with postpartum depression or experiencing adjustment difficulties following the birth of their child.
Goals of Oasis Self-Help Groups
- The Oasis self-help groups reassure, offer support, break isolation by meeting other mothers who are going through the same difficulties and promote the recovery of their recovery. The meetings allow each participant to verbalize, in a benevolent and non-judgmental atmosphere, what she experiences and feels.
Confidentiality, respect and non-judgment are required to allow all participants to feel at ease.
