About this service
Objective: to accompany immigrant children aged 7 to 11 towards academic success and support their parents in order to facilitate their integration and the school adaptation of their children.
Support for school adaptation is intended for immigrant children aged 7 to 11 who need supervision and monitoring to do their homework and their lessons.
For this service, after receiving the request:
- the family is met to assess their needs;
- then there is a meeting with the child's teacher;
- Finally, the child is paired with a volunteer.
Thirty carefully selected volunteers under the supervision of a social worker from the MEI help these students. Meetings take place on average once a week at the rate of one hour per visit and the volunteer travels to the family's home.
