SPCA - Quebec City

As the organization's name suggests, its original role was primarily focused on preventing cruelty to animals. This role has expanded considerably, so that the SPA now assumes a true vocation of public utility:

When called by citizens or police services;

Pick up lost, stray, injured animals and trace their owners, if possible (said owners having identified the animal and/or reported the loss of the animal)

Collect animals from home

Receive animals abandoned by their guardian or found by any citizen in the towns served;

Accommodate, feed, provide care to animals during their stay at the shelter;

Put the animals up for adoption, in order to offer them every possible chance of finding a new home;

Deal with various complaints, in particular for stray animals or for cruelty;

Collect and relocate small wild animals;

Provide advice to adoptive families;

Public awareness and education.
