Fibromyalgia is a chronic disease characterized by a sensation of widespread general pain in the muscles, ligaments and tendons. It is also characterized by feelings of deep fatigue.
The pain is felt as diffuse. It is often described as a shooting, burning, pulling, tingling or tingling pain from head to toe. Acute at times, it can move from place to place and become more intense in the most used parts of the body.
Depending on sufferers, the pain may be severe enough to interfere with daily tasks or just mild discomfort. It can also have phases of remission.
Fatigue varies from a feeling of weariness to complete exhaustion. It may also be intermittent. Sometimes sufferers feel drained of all energy; they momentarily lost all their strength.
