About this organization
The mission of LIS is to defend and promote the rights and interests of graduate and postgraduate students at Universit Laval, to represent them before any university, social or political body and to offer of an economic and social nature to its members.
Several years later and following a "rejuvenation operation", the UGIL changed its name and image to become, on June 1, 1996, the Association of Laval students enrolled in higher education (LIS ) its acronym being pronounced and implying allies. From then on, the LIS was the official student association for graduate students recognized by Universit Laval and by the government. To date, the Association has approximately 15,000 members, making it the largest graduate student association in Quebec.
