The Attic Food Aid and Support Services

We are in 1991 and one thing is clear: poverty is indeed present in Lvis, except that it is hidden. Beyond a seemingly prosperous city live underprivileged people, who have to deal with restricted budgets. And who says limited budget says inevitable cut in the only compressible expense: food. Volunteers then created Action Christ-Roi, a mutual aid counter for these people, located in the basement of the Christ-Roi church. In 1992, the organization moved to Saint-Joseph Street in a former grocery store and opened a collective kitchen service. A year later, it moved to the current premises at 235, rue Saint-Joseph in Lvis. On August 25, 1999, Action Christ-Roi became Comptoir le Grenier with the same mission. It will therefore be recognized within the community as an organization of great importance helping the poorest on a regular basis thanks to its food aid.

The Attic Food Aid and Support Services is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m..
