About this organization

Aware, Prepared and Linked (APL) for at-risk youth. This seven-week summer program includes workshops on healthy lifestyles, social and work skills and drug and alcohol prevention. Youth participate in 4 weeks of workshops and a 3-week work placement at a local business. Seniors participate in video conferences and workshops on a variety of health and social services themes such as Fall Prevention, DNR and end of life, self-esteem and aging, living with arthritis etc... Workshops are provided to high school students that promote careers in health. The program offers a free space for parents and children to socialize. Information is provided on early childhood development, speech and language development, early literacy and healthy lifestyles. Other activities include cooking, songs, crafts etc... 21 Volunteers assisted Connexions with the delivery of its programs/activities by providing support with the organization of events and the recruitment of participants.
