About this service
WESTs CNC (Care for Newcomer Children) offers childcare services to the women who attend programs funded through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
The CNC Centre is staffed with qualified Early Childhood Educators (ECE) that provide a daily program based on emergent curriculum, which features open-ended activities for children 6 months to 5 years old.
A play-based learning approach is incorporated into each classroom to create the best environment for the children to learn and grow. In addition, each classroom consists of age appropriate materials, toys and equipment.
The children learn new skills and improve their confidence to help them to create healthy relationships with peers. Our programs recognize that activities and materials in the learning environment should reflect the childrens interests, cultural background and experiences.
The snacks the children receive are based on Canadas Food Guide.
