About this service
We seek to promote and foster a healthy community by providing timely and effective intervention with at-risk youth. Both the Extrajudicial Measures Program, also referred to as Project Intervention and Extrajudicial Sanctions Program are designed to deal with youth in conflict with the law and hold youth accountable for their actions while offering opportunities for them to deal with the underlying issues contributing to their criminal behaviour.
A youth may be considered for the Extrajudicial Measures Program if they meet these criteria:
- 12-17 years of age
- Sufficient evidence to proceed with a charge
- The youth accepts responsibility and is willing to participate
- Referred by the Windsor Police Service, LaSalle Police, Amherstburg Police Service, Essex County OPP
A youth may be considered for the Extrajudicial Sanctions Program if they meet these criteria:
- 12-17 years of age
- The youth accepts responsibility and is willing to participate
- Approved by Crown Attorney/Ontario Court of Justice
