About this service
Wilmot Family Resource Centre is here to support you in your role as a parent.
We all want a perfect family and we all worry about how our children will turn out. This in turn creates high expectations of how things should be. Remember there are no perfect parents and no perfect children. There is no manual to pull out and follow step-by-step. Children will misbehave at times and parents will make mistakes.
A parents goal is to raise well-behaved, responsible children - then they think they have succeeded in their task. Children who are loved, encouraged and allowed to grow at their own pace will develop healthy self-esteem and self-confidence. Learn to empower and influence your children instead of controlling them; teach them how to think, not just what to think. Learn to take time for yourself so that you can give to your children.
