About this service
Our Children and Family Social Support Group invites children and their family members to join us for a themed or holiday related event at various points in the year either at the office or within the local community. This provides a chance for the children to connect with others around their age who are dealing with similar obstacles kids living with epilepsy face. This includes the stigma, exclusion and challenges in their daily lives within various environments like school, extra-curricular activities and family or friend relationships. We seek to support the children and their families in various methods to encourage, motivate and raise self-confidence to know they are not the only ones living with epilepsy. While our main goal here is the social connection and support, we always make sure to incorporate a fun activity suitable for all children to take part in based on the type of event.
