Progress Place partners with Dixon Hall, Hospice Toronto, Fred Victor and Toronto Public Health at the St. James Town Community Corner to engage seniors over the age of 55 living with mental illness in various activities which help foster friendships and a sense of community.
The seniors program at St. James Town Community Corner creates a community that is warm and welcoming, allowing members to be themselves, participate in social activities with their peers, and receive the support they need to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle. It is located at 200 Wellesley St. East (S-W Corner).
Group activities such as cooking, participating in lively discussions, and arts and crafts provides the opportunity for seniors to stay active, learn new skills, and remain social while living with a mental illness in their senior years.
