About this service
Our support line is staffed by a team of mental health counselors who provide individualized supportive counseling, system navigation, and customized information and education to caregivers, individuals living with chronic mental illness, and our community as a whole. Whether youre dealing with increased stress and anxiety due to a life issue, or experiencing challenges related to a mental health or addictions issue, were here to help! At IAM, our support line continues to service those previously using Ask the Expert (ATE), the former SSO's Ontario-specific service that assisted people living with schizophrenia and psychosis and their families across Ontario through telephone, online and in-person support. Reach out to one of our counsellors at 1-855-449-9949 or email us at support@iamentalhealth.ca NOTE: Due to COVID-19, in-person one-to-one support sessions will be postponed until further notice. One-to-one support will be offered over the phone, or through email.Topics our individual counsellors support: First episode or new diagnosis of schizophrenia/psychosis Persistent, ongoing situations of schizophrenia and related mental illness Addictions and substance abuse concerns Justice and mental health concerns Housing, Employment/ODSP issues Early intervention for psychosis Support with medication and treatment Crisis planning Coping & support for individuals and caregivers Advocacy System navigation/connecting you with resources in your community Counselling Hours: Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST. Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST. Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST. Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST. Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST.
