About this service
Making a new country your home is both exciting and overwhelming. FYIs Settlement Service helps make the process more welcoming. During intake, a Case Manager will work with a young person to perform an assessment to determine their needs in the areas of education, language, housing, and employment. The Case Manager will recommend resources and programs at FYI and FYIs partner organizations that could support the youth in their journey. Case Managers are available for additional supports that range from crisis counseling, translation services, and navigation of social services and legal proceedings. Participation in FYI programs offers newcomer youth a wonderful opportunity to build connections, develop new social networks, and apply language skills in an informal setting.
