About this service
During this period of crisis (COVID-19), though Black CAPs physical offices remain closed to the public, our programs and services by the health promotion and support department still continue to be offered to the public through modified bases such as phone, social media, as well as audio/video, conferencing and other means.
Our staff delivers programs and services that help us meet our mission to:
- Reduce the spread of HIV infection within Torontos Black communities
- Enhance the quality of life of people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS
Black CAP works to create culturally relevant outreach, prevention and support services for people infected with, affected by, or at risk of contracting HIV. The work that we do is necessary, but it is not easy. Social barriers like HIV stigma, racism, homophobia and poverty make our work more difficult, however, its our understanding of these barriers that strengthen Black CAPs efforts.
