About this service
Through the funding of the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, Aptus received strategic planning from the Ontario Disability Employment Network to develop its employment services. This culminated in Aptus' launching of Employment Now! which offers employment readiness and job acquisition/retention supports for youth and adults who have developmental disabilities. Aptus staff offer adapted versions of job readiness programs developed by EARN Ontario and Community Living Sarnia. The Ministry also funded Aptus' founding of dependABLE labour, Aptus' initiative to support employers in learning about and hiring people with disabilities. Key employer partners include Pizza Nova (pictured at right) and No Frills. Aptus also founded and co-leads the Supported Employment Alliance which is a quarterly meeting of over 25 organizations supporting people who have developmental disabilities in achieving their goal of employment.
