About this service
As you can imagine, a person who has suffered hunger, insecurity, and homelessness may develop strong attachments to material possessions. You might hang on to a few tattered scraps that may be your only memento of a loved one. Extra clothes, no matter how worn, may seem like a necessity in case you ever have to sleep on the street or a park bench again one cold wintery night. Bits of food stashed here and there are may be comfort against nightmares of starving nights. You would like to believe you dont need it all, but you cant bring yourself to let go.
AIS needs donations to educate and provide practical support to help a tenant maintain a healthy home, free of clutter. A skilled Hoarding Specialist will work with a tenant and plan to organize his or her apartment.
