About this organization
Toronto HomeShare is run by the National Initiative for the Care of the Elderly (NICE) and matches older adults (55+) with a spare room in their home who would like to have a post-secondary student move in, and students who are looking for affordable housing.
In exchange for reduced rent of $400-$600 per month, students provide up to seven hours of companionship and/or assistance with completing household tasks, such as preparing and sharing meals, tidying up, carrying groceries, or walking a pet.
