About this organization
St. Lawrence Co-operative Day Care Incorporated believes children learn through play. Play is the cornerstone where children have the opportunity to actively explore and learn through materials and their environment. Play facilitates the development of the whole child, including, social, emotional, physical, cognitive and creative abilities. In order for childrens play to be meaningful, the experiences need to reflect each childs skills and needs.
The preschool centre has a capacity for 44 children from 18 months to 5 years old. The centre offers 2 toddler programs with a capacity for 20 toddlers (18 months to 2 years) and 1 preschool room (2 years to 5 years) with the capacity for 24.
The ratio for the toddler program is 1 adult to 5 toddlers and the ratio for the preschool group is 1 adult to 8 preschoolers.
