About this organization
At ProAction Cops & Kids, we bring cops and kids together in skill-building and mentoring programs to create trust, respect and safer communities.
We believe that engaging cops and kids together in healthy, pro-social activities creates positive relationships and builds a mutual respect and understanding that strengthens our community today and for the future. The skill-building aspect of many ProAction programs often leads to educational and career opportunities for the young participants. Many participants even become interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement due to the mentorship of the police officers leading the programs.
ProAction Cops & Kids is a charitable organization established in Toronto in 1991 by business leader John Bitove Sr. who wanted to create an organization that would allow police officers to make a positive and impactful connection with young people.
