About this organization

COVID19 Update: Parkdale Community Food Bank continues to service clients during this challenging time for our community. We are also following Public Health Ontario guidelines and taking additional precautions to keep our employees, volunteers and clients safe. In addition to regular cleaning and disinfection practices we are implementing social distancing measures at our Queen West location. We are also creating programs to reach our most vulnerable clients in time of social isolation.

We are a grass roots organization, founded by volunteers in November 2007. Located on Queen Street West in the heart of Parkdale, our philosophy reflects a strong commitment to a client-based model, where respect, inclusion and the dignity of our members is the first priority. The food bank uses a shopping system, as opposed to the more common hamper system to maximize selection and respect member's various dietary needs.
