About this organization
The hospitality and food service industry is one of the most impacted by the necessary preventive measures to avoid the COVID-19 spread. Businesses in the sector have closed their doors in a large proportion resulting in massive layoffs.
As a not-for-profit sector-based workforce development organization, the Hospitality Workers Training Centre (HWTC) exists for the purpose of contributing to a strong hospitality industry. In regular circumstances, we provide training to individuals unemployed or looking for jobs in the sector. Now HWTC is pivoting and adjusting to support the Toronto hospitality industry workers who are struggling because of the COVID-19 outbreak, trying to cope with the crisis.
