About this service
We are recruiting volunteers to join its Board of Directors, or to assist with its adult or childrens programs.
Due to the nature of TLCs programs, an in depth screening process is performed for all potential volunteers, which includes completing an application, attending an interview, and obtaining a criminal and vulnerable sector check.
TLCs Board of Directors is made up of local community members who support literacy and promote lifelong learning. Board members are expected to attend monthly meetings which run from September to June. Board members are offered in depth orientation and training prior to their first official meeting.
Volunteer tutors who assist with TLCs adult or childrens programs are provided with comprehensive orientation, training and continual support from staff. A TLC volunteer may choose to tutor a child or an adult in either a one-to-one or small group setting.
Most importantly, TLC volunteers have the opportunity to make a difference!
