About this service
The Family Preservation Program provides in-home counselling and support to families of children identified as experiencing mental health difficulties and are at risk of family breakdown.
This service extends rather than replaces services that are already in place for a family. The staff provides flexible, intense and diverse services to address various needs of clients by utilizing a holistic approach. Children/youth referred to the program must be under the age of eighteen (18) years and reside within the Districts of Cochrane and Timiskaming.
Participation in this program is voluntary and consents are required.

- Behaviour Management Training
- Parenting Techniques
- Dealing with Discipline
- Establishing Routines
- Household Management
- Understanding Developmental Stages
- Accessing Social Services/Community Resources
- Preparing for Individual and/or Family Counselling
