About this organization
Inspired by her community-driven mothers lifelong motto Helping Our People Excel and the resilience of those in need, Julie Levesque, founded H.O.P.E. Comfort Kits and Community Outreach in 2016. Julie and her team of volunteers collect, sort, package and distribute donated supplies to the homeless and those at risk of homelessness. These HOPE Comfort Kits are distributed weekly and include ample hygiene products and other useful/needed items such as granola bars, hand warmers, hot chocolate/tea, packages of soup, oatmeal, and more. HOPEs outreach work is deeply relational; Julie and volunteers greet everyone with a smile, hugs are freely given and warm conversations flow. Julie delights in noting special needs or wishes of neighbours and often surprises them with bonus items unique to their personal story or circumstance. She knows that for many, receiving even the most basic items, such as extra toilet paper, means they can pay for their next meal.
