About this service
The Salvation Army is ready and able to respond when disaster strikes. Our Emergency Response Vehicle is equipped to provide coffee, water and hot food. Our first priority is to care for the first responders - firefighters, police, ambulance - to ensure that they have what they need to continue to serve in the emergency. At the emergency site, we also provide emotional and spiritual care to the victims. Long term, we connect victims with our Thrift Stores to meet their practical needs when items have been lost, such as furniture, clothing, food and other household goods. We operate in partnership with the Canadian Red Cross and the Thunder Bay Firefighters to ensure that people are cared for whatever may come.
