About this service
The Canadian Forces (CF) recognizes the contributions and sacrifices made by the families and the difficulties that Canadian Forces members may face in balancing commitment to country and family life. The Military Family Services Program, established in 1991, was developed to provide military families and specifically, military spouses, with a voice in how their families lives were affected by the military occupational lifestyle. Participation of civillian spouses, military members and community organizations in all aspects of the Military Family Services Program is essential to reflect the needs of military families. The aim of the Military Family Services Program is to promote health and well-being, provide needed information and referral, assist in the prevention of individual, family and community breakdown, buffer lifestyle stresses, enhance coping skills and aid individuals and families in distress.
