Through this program, dedicated coordinators will engage peer mentors with relevant life experiences to form a network capable of conducting talking and sharing circles, lead discussions on life journeys, and offer informal peer counselling supports for program participants. Program Objectives: Coordinate mentorship for urban Indigenous individuals as they exit incarceration, particularly with regards to mental health or addictions concerns; Assist Indigenous individuals under community supervision orders in navigating the justice system and complying with conditions; Support and improve individual family wellbeing and the ability to recognize and maintain health relationships; Provide access to cultural knowledge and activities that foster self-respect and identity; and; Assist in improving the mental well-being using strength-based approaches to achieve and maintain a Good Mind.
