About this service
The Referral Program aims to address poverty in Thunder Bay by providing three sets of clothing for people in need. Community Clothing Assistance's goal is for everyone in Thunder Bay to have appropriate clothing for every season. Temperatures in Thunder Bay can get as low as -39C (sometimes even colder!) so access to clothing is a matter of life and death. Vulnerable people can be referred by speaking with any social worker at one of over 150 partnering agencies. Through this program, clients are eligible to pick out three free sets of clothing each season. Clients referred to CCA are given the opportunity to pick whatever clothing they like from our Clothing Centre. By being helped from the REFERRAL Program, people can focus their resources on other necessities. Clean, dry, quality clothing can empower adults and children by giving them comfort and self-confidence. Through the REFERRAL Program over 6,000 pieces of clothing per month are given away.
