About this organization

The purpose of the Institute of Italian Studies - Lakehead University is to promote the appreciation, research, and study of the Italian language, Italian-Canadian culture and history with a special but not exclusive reference to Northwestern Ontario. Mandate The Institute of Italian Studies - Lakehead University is mandated to deepen the knowledge and understanding of individuals towards Italian and Italian-Canadian culture and history through its research and publication program, its speaker series and various artistic endeavors, and through its association with Lakehead University, Confederation College, la Societa Italiana di Benevolenza Principe di Piemonte (Da Vinci Centre), la Societa Italiana di Port Arthur (Italian Cultural Centre), and other Italian cultural organizations in and beyond Thunder Bay, Ontario.
