About this service
It is a basic human right to live free of violence and fear. Every woman and her children have the right to be safe and to receive necessary supportive and adequate assistance both from the government and community-based service systems.
WIC is a safe and supportive shelter for women who have experienced abuse and their children. Emergency housing is accessible 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. Emergency transportation through the Police Services or taxi is available when necessary. Basic needs such as food, hygiene supplies, and used clothing are available to the women and children.
Access to and information about referrals and resources, in accordance with her self-identified emotional and practical needs, are made available to all women staying at the Shelter and women using the non-residential services.
