About this service
Community Cupboard is a program established by the City of Quinte West as part of its Community Safety & Well-being Plan. Located in the lobby of Quinte West City Hall, the cupboard is open from Monday to Saturday and provides food and supplies to those in need within the community. It operates under the principle of "take what you need, leave what you can," accepting donations of healthy snacks, produce, and hygiene products. Additionally, the Mobile Community Resource Unit (MCRU), an initiative funded by the Province of Ontario and Kay Stafford Fund, provides a free space for local organizations that offer services related to mental health, addictions, and housing. Scheduled to resume in May 2023, the MCRU will be positioned in high-need areas determined by the frequency of police calls related to mental health or substance use.
