LOWER TRENT CONSERVATION

Lower Trent Conservation is an organization that protects, restores, and manages water and other natural resources in the Lower Trent Conservation watershed region. It was formed in 1968 in response to the environmental needs of the local communities. The organization's work focuses on building healthier communities, improving residents' quality of life, and aiding economic development by making the region more appealing to visitors and businesses. Lower Trent Conservation is primarily governed by a board of directors appointed by local municipalities and is accountable to the residents of the watershed region. Besides monitoring the watershed's health, the organization also owns and manages areas of natural habitat for the conservation of local flora and fauna and runs educational and outreach programs to raise environmental awareness.
