About this organization
The website of 173 Tigers, Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron provides information about the activities of the squadron to cadets, parents, staff, SSC members, and the public. It is not an official platform of the Department of National Defence, Canadian Armed Forces, or the Air Cadet League of Canada. The Royal Canadian Air Cadets program is a youth program sponsored by the Air Cadet League of Canada and the Department of National Defence. It offers a variety of fun and challenging activities for cadets, with training taking place at the local squadron during the school year and summer training courses available at different centers across Canada. The program also provides gliding and flying scholarships to qualified individuals, with many ex-air cadets becoming private and commercial pilots. There are 456 squadrons across the country with around 23,000 Air Cadets enrolled.
