About this organization

We conduct monthly open meetings on topics related to Learning Disabilities (Ld's) with speakers. Meetings are free. We advise parents on approaches to meeting school officials regarding problems and educational modifications for Ld-identified students. We represent our members and community of the Ontario Gov't mandated Special Education Advisory Committees (SEAC's) of the Public and Separate School Boards in Durham Region. We operated a resource centre on Ld-related interest (books, literature, videos, research). We operated a website for our Chapter, with links and resources. We ran an Awareness Day event in conjunction with Trent University on Ld's.
