About this service
A program designed to respond to the life long care needs of older Aboriginal people who may have limited mobility related to a persistent medical condition or physical disabliity. Following consultations with off-reserve Aboriginal communities, the Ontario Federation of Indian Friendship Centres (OFIFC) entered into an agreement with the Ministry of Health to provide life long care services through local Friendship Centres. The Odawa Native Friendship Centre (ONFC) launched its program in 1996, and currently employs a Coordinator and Care Support Worker.
