About this organization
The OKFB serves members of the Ottawa Jewish community in need of assistance. Most of our clients are referred to us from Jewish Family Services. We currently serve between 70-90 families each month. Our clients are young and old and include singles, couples, and families with children.
The OKFB provides at least a 3-day supply of nutritious, kosher food to our clients once a month. We have three distributions each month to best serve our clients. In addition to the food we provide, we give out Recipes of the Month that focus on a new food each month available in the food bank. We also run a Stock the Freezer program which allows us to cook and freeze meals, soups, and baked goods for our clients.
