IMPORTANT NOTICE: Changes to Housing Help services due to the pandemic
Following the official advice available at this time, Housing Help will be practicing social distancing during the outbreak of COVID-19. No face-to-face services will be offered until further notice, our office is also closed to the public and staff are not working at satellite locations.
Housing Help began as a program at what was the Dalhousie Community Centre (now the Somerset West Community Health Centre). Initially, one staff and volunteers helped people with their search for affordable housing and to address rent control. In response to increasing demand, the agency was incorporated in 1992 and became a separate entity. It was the first of several Housing Help centres funded by the province.
We provide free services to low- to moderate-income individuals and families to access and maintain safe, adequate and affordable housing.
