About this organization
Helping Hands for India is a volunteer-based charity dedicated to providing educational opportunities and promoting well-being for underprivileged children in rural India. They have built Sansar Gyaan Pathshala, a school in the village of Pritamgarh, utilizing an integrated curriculum of yoga, meditation, outdoor education, and foundational academic subjects like maths, science, language, and arts. Managed by a group of senior yoga teachers under the mentorship of Yogrishi Vishvketu, the institution accommodates up to 300 children from kindergarten to 8th grade. Their mission includes sensitivity and support to the children's future, their families, the community, and the environment, contributing to reducing the literacy gap in North India. The organization is supported by the Anand Prakash Ashram in Rishikesh and generosities of the Akhanda yoga community and friends.
