About this service

National Service Dogs recognizes the special bonds that develop between pet dogs and their families. The therapeutic value of pets is well documented and many people have experienced decreased stress and anxiety, increased psychological well being, increased opportunities for exercise, and increased opportunities for social interaction.

As a result, our Companion Dog Program was founded in 2002 and was formalized in 2009. The Companion Dog Program has allowed us to utilize over 83% of our dogs; thereby, helping more families and individuals in need.
