About this service
Nipissing Transition House is a 20 bed shelter that provides a safe and supportive environment for women 16 years of age and older and their children fleeing abuse. We are not able to offer accommodations to males 16 years of age and older. If you have a male child who does not qualify for admission, please speak to shelter staff for possible options. Our shelter has 11 bedrooms including two larger bedrooms and an accessible bedroom. If you are a single woman, there is a real possibility that you will have to share your bedroom with another single woman. Families stay in the same room with each other. Cribs are available. We also have a main living room, a dining room where everyone eats family style, a kitchen, playroom, laundry room and fenced in back yard with play equipment.
