About this service
Respite Services provides short-term relief and support services to primary caregivers of adults with intellectual disabilities and families of children with intellectual and/or physical disabilities residing in the District of Nipissing. Respite can be provided for a few hours, a day, a weekend or a week. It may be provided on an occasional or on a regular basis.
Community Case Workers provide assistance to the primary caregiver in recruiting, training and selecting reliable Respite Providers to assume responsibility for their child/adult and/or children. Families also receive subsidy funds in order to hire/pay the selected Respite Provider.
