About this service
Our counselling team provides trauma-informed, one-on-one supportive counselling to prenatal and parenting individuals aged 14-29 years.
Counsellors provide support in offices located in Newmarket and Maple, as well as home and community visits across York Region.
Counselling support is client-centred and may include goal setting, problem solving, healthy relationships, emotional and practical supports, CAS advocacy, assistance completing applications, information and referrals.
Counsellors can provide referrals to services that assist with the following concerns:
- mental health
- housing
- employment
- education
- legal
- finances (such as Ontario Works and LEAP)
- childcare fee subsidy
- community programs for children and/or caregivers
