About this service

This programs purpose is to raise awareness and provide education throughout York Region on elder abuse.

Peer-led workshops are offered to seniors in an interactive, supportive way in a group setting that is easily accessible and comfortable for participants. This education is delivered following the Starting the Conversation toolkit, developed by the Prevention of Elder Abuse Committee of York Region.

Coordinator-led workshops are offered to front-line staff who work directly with seniors, following the Response Guidelines developed by the Prevention of Elder Abuse Committee of York Region.
