About this service
Embrave admits survivors and their dependents 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If a person is not safe and the shelter is full, staff will provide shelter until an alternative safe space is found. If a person determines that they do meet eligibility criteria after staff have fully explored their situation, Embrave will provide alternative shelter, services and supports. To ensure its ability to do this, Embrave will maintain up-to-date information on local service providers. Embrave provides services to:
- All women and two-spirit, genderqueer, trans and non-binary people who are 16 years of age and older, with or without dependents, and who have experienced, are currently experiencing, or are at risk of experiencing any form of violence;
- People waiting to provide testimony at a court proceeding relating to a sexual assault;
- Dependents, including children and family members, in the care of a person seeking shelter services
